Tree Care

Mulching:

Mulching can reduce enviormental stress by providing trees with a stable root enviorment that is cooler and contains more moisture than surrounding soil. Mulch can also prevent mechanical damage by keeping machines such as lawnmowers and string trimmers away from the tree's base. Also, mulch reduces competition from surrounding weeds and turf.

Mulching should be done no more than 2 to 4 inches deep. Keep a small gap between the mulch and tree at least 1 1/2 to 2 inches away. Being too close causes trunk decay.

When to Remove trees:

Dead, dying , defective trees must be removed to protect people and property. Removing these trees provides opportunity to plant the site with young healthy trees that can make a positive addition to your property.

It is best to leave tree removal to professionals who have insurance and the proper knowledge and equipment for the job.
